The Indian government has taken steps in the right direction by re-opening the Indian embassy in Kabul, albeit as a liaison office, to oversee the distribution of humanitarian aid there, said Jayant Prasad, former Ambassador of India to Afghanistan, as Islamabad and Rawalpindi have plans to use the Afghan territory to train terrorists there and create troubles for the neighhbourhood, especially India. Prasad, who was also India's envoy to Nepal and former Director General of Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), said India has to now invest more in Nepal. India has to do more in terms of connectivity not just to counter the China challenge but to also build trust and goodwill within the young generation of the Himalayan country, he told Nayanima Basu in this #ThePrintInterview.
