The first track from the album "The Sensual World."
The song is based on the final portion of Molly Bloom's soliloquy from James Joyce's "Ulysses." Initially, Kate wanted to record the song word for word from Joyce's text. However, since the work is not in the public domain, she needed to have permission from the Joyce estate to record the song. The estate did not grant her permission to use the work word for word. So she altered the wording, giving allusion to the piece instead, which became the song we are all familiar with now.
Luckily, 22 years later, the Joyce estate granted Kate permission to use the text word for word, which she recorded and included in the 2011 album "Director's Cut" as "Flower of the Mountain."
