HOW TO GRAFT BOUGAINVILLEA IN 6 EASY STEPS
1. Cut stem of the root stock where you want to graft the scion
2. Remove leaves from the scion and gently make a v cut at the scion's base.
3. Slice the diameter of the root stock stem where you want to place the scion.
4. Cross the root stock and scion together, important note is to properly meet the green bark portion are at maximum contact for faster healing.
5. Wrap the graft with grafting tape just to press them firmly and allow them to have closed contact together.
6. Cover the whole grafted stem with transparent plastic coverings, transparency makes you check them more easily when new leaves have grown.
You will need:
-Root stock - base plant
-Scion - the one we want to graft
-Cutters
-Grafting tape
-Tie wires
-Disposable transparent plastic bags
You can remove the covers when new leaves started to grow, just gradually remove the cover and avoid exposing the grafted stem on the outside world too soon.
