We can talk all day about something, but it's not the same as experiencing it. For example, you may intellectually understand how surfing works, but it's very different from actually surfing itself. This is the same as chronic pain and chronic health symptoms. We can read about how to deal with chronic symptoms and how embrace them and tell ourselves we are ok, but it's not the same as actually openly experiencing and feeling the symptoms directly. We have to go through the symptoms to get out of them. It's our experience of them that matters.
