Evangeline is the epic story of star-crossed lovers Evangeline and Gabriel, torn apart on their wedding day as a result of the British expulsion of the Acadians from Atlantic Canada in 1755. The story was immortalized and achieved legendary status through the poem Evangeline: A Tale of Acadie by American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Edmonton native Ted Dykstra, co-creator of the world-renowned 2 Pianos 4 Hands, has given new life to this powerful drama by creating an epic new Canadian musical.
