Assalamualaikum and Hi!
Hopefully everyone is doing well.
In this video I'll be unboxing, installing and doing a quick review of the XPG SX8200 Pro 2TB PCIe NVME SSD on my Lenovo Legion 5.
This video is not sponsored, everything shown and used in this video is purchased by me. If you like this video and/or find it useful, consider subscribing to this channel.
I got the SSD off Shoppee Malaysia for RM960 including shipping. That's around USD240 at the current exchange rate.
For a 2TB SSD the price is pretty reasonable. A 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus would cost you double.
So why is it so cheap? I don't really know. Maybe Adata uses a cheaper controller of NAND chips.
However, the performance is nothing to scoff at. The read and write speeds are pretty on par with the Evo. Max read/write 3500/3000 MB/s.
For my use case, they're good enough. I mean I don't run any critical work on
my laptop.
My old SSD is also an XPG SX8200 Pro, however the capacity is only 512GB (hence the upgrade) and is getting full pretty fast. Game nowadays really take up a lot of memory and by the time you have 3-4 games, that's like 3 quarters of the storage taken up.
In terms of durability, I've been using the SSD in my daily driver laptop for a year and a half now and have no issues. It survived being transferred from my old thinkpad to the Legion 5.
Now, I'm using it as an external drive via a NVME eternal enclosure. Will do a video of that later. Do subscribe and press the bell icon if you don't want to miss the video.
If you have any questions or comments, you know where to put them. I'll try and get back to all of them if possible.
