So it's time to buy a new drill as our old ones have had it due to heavy use. The model we went for is the DCD778M2T-SFGB which was purchased from Screwfix on a deal around £150, it's usually £100 more so if you are interested then best buy it sooner rather than later.
Anyway back to the specs, it's an 18v model and the batteries are 4.0Ah so you have plenty of capacity there and they are also Li-Ion or Lithium-Ion which can deliver lots of power when needed. It comes with two batteries included and a nice charger unit, according to the manufacturer the charging time is around 100mins. The batteries have a built-in push button charge test, one battery was 2/3 and the other 1/3 in the box. It's brushless and a combi drill, which means there aren't any brushes to wear out or replacement and it can be used to drill both normally and with hammer mode along with driving screws in with a torque rating of 65Nm.
There are two-speed settings via a slider on top e.g. 1-2, the 13mm chuck is keyless + spindle lock. Additionally, the gearing is all metal and there is a built-in electronic brake along with a very handy LED light on the front which is activated via the trigger, this actually stays on for a few seconds afterward so if you're working under a sink etc it really helps.
The included case is nice quality with metal fasteners so it should last, and there's plenty of room to store the drill both batteries and the charger which should keep everything safe. The drill does weight a fair bit but we've put that down to better construction compared to cheaper models? Possibly, the handle has a rubber coating as well.
We've had lots of tool brands over the years and for us recently we've started to lean towards DeWalt as they seem better quality and well designed, there are lots of videos on the channels for tool reviews we have done recently. I hope this video helps you when deciding to buy this product, thanks.
