The Iraqi Army School of Infantry NCO II (SINCO II) has achieved a significant milestone in reaching Initial Operating Capability (IOC) ahead of schedule.
IOC means SINCO II can conduct seventy five per cent of its operations without any coalition assistance.
Based at the Taji Military Complex, 20 kilometres north of Baghdad, SINCO II is normally assisted by Task Group Taji, part of the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve.
SINCO II trains brigades from the Iraqi Army to secure and stabilise areas of Iraq liberated from Daesh.
SINCO II does this by delivering an eight week training program, designed to enhance core infantry skills.
