Spud Webb, who stood at just 5'7" tall, managed to win the 1986 NBA Dunk Contest, beating out Dominique Wilkins, who had destroyed Michael Jordan in the previous years event. While many fans only know about Spud Webb's incredible 1986 All Star event, there is so much more to his incredible life than just that weekend. Spud Webb was one of the best back up Point Guards in the NBA, he supported Doc Rivers and the Atlanta Hawks for many years, before eventually being traded to the Sacramento Kings, where he rounded out his career as a full time starting point guard.
Join me as we explore how Spud Webb became Spud (he was named after a satellite) and how he became such a dominant player at such a small size.
