Dr. John Marshall presents an overview of the basics of adaptive platform trials (APTs) and suitable questions for an APT at the 2024 Adaptive Platform Trials Scientific Meeting in Toronto, ON.
About the speaker: Dr. Marshall is a Professor of Surgery and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Toronto, and a Senior Scientist in the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of Unity Health Toronto. He is the rounding and current Chair of the International Forum for Acute Care Trialists. He is the Canadian principal investigator for the REMAP-CAP trial, and co-chairs the R&D Roadmap Committee of the Clinical Characterization and Management of COVID-19 of the World Health Organization. He is an Associate Editor of Critical Care, and a Senior Editor of Critical Care Medicine.
About the event: The 2024 Adaptive Platform Trials Scientific Meeting was a conference for clinical trialists, clinical investigators, statisticians, trial methodologists, health economists; trainees, and patient partners interested in the design and implementation of platform trials. This event was organized by the Upstream Lab, a non-profit research group based at the MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions, St. Michael’s Hospital, Unity Health Toronto.
