What is irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)? In this video, Raaj K. Popli, M.D., a board-certified gastroenterologist at Digestive Disease Consultants, discusses what irritable bowel syndrome is and how it can be treated.

“Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a very common condition that affects many Americans,” says Dr. Popli. “It refers to irregular bowel movements, either diarrhea or constipation or some combination of the two that can result in a lot of abdominal pain.”
