Perth Children's Hospital has started performing intraoperative MRI (or iMRI) for children undergoing brain tumour surgery, thanks to the delivery of a Space Infusion Station funded by Perth Children's Hospital Foundation donors, be giving.
"The Space Station has made intraoperative MRI's at Perth Children's Hospital far safer. It allows children with brain tumours to reap the rewards of more effective surgical techniques and better outcomes." - Dr Sharon Lee, Head of Paediatric Neurosurgery.
