Governor of Nasarawa state, Umar Al- Makura has appeared before the seven-man panel set up to investigate the 16-count charges leveled against him by the state lawmakers.
The lawmakers, most of them of the opposition PDP in the state, had asked the Chief Judge of the State to set up the seven-man committee preparatory to impeaching the governor.
Al- Makura arrived the scheduled sitting at about 9am but members of the house of Assembly did not show up.
Chairman of the probe panel, Yusuf Usman said the lawmakers were duly served a notice of the hearing.
He directed that another notice of the hearing be pasted on the notice board and the gate of the House of Assembly.
The lawmakers had opposed the composition of the panel and demanded its dissolution alleging that some of its members belong to political parties.
