DTEK advocates for the development of a comprehensive set of strategic measures to ensure long-term, stable development of the energy industry and sees two alternative ways for energy development in Ukraine: Either through integration with the European energy market or increasing imports from the CIS.
According to DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko, Ukraine's integration into the European energy market will allow increased competition, a reduction in prices and improved quality of services provided. With this being said, it is important to ensure governmental monitoring of the implementation of the plan for integrating Ukrainian and European energy systems.
