The police helicopter helped chase and locate a man who had made off from police on a motorbike

Police tried to stop two bikes near the M56 - but they failed to stop.

Officers lost track of one bike - but the other, ridden by Philip Hunter, was tracked to the village of Weaverham

The police helicopter guided officers on the ground to his location when he abandoned the bike and he was arrested.

Hunter, 25, of Beswick Road, Northwich, was handed a 26-week prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Warrington Magistrates Court heard he had previously pleaded guilty to dangerous driving

He was also banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to undertake an extended retest.
