You don't need much to get started in card magic.

Except, well, some cards!

But what deck should you use? What are the best cards for magic?

My top 5, in no particular order are:

1) Bicycle Standards or Rider Backs
2) Bicycle Dragon Backs
3) Bicycle Archangels
4) Theory11 Monarchs
5) Theory11 White Artisans

I love each and every one of these decks for different reasons, but they aren't the end-all-be-all. Almost any deck from Bicycle or Theory11 works great for card magic!

(And hey, don't sleep on those Bicycle Standards. For $2-3 per deck, you really can't do a whole lot better when it comes to handling. Plus they're super easy to find — you can buy them in almost any store.)
