The closed door of Masjid al-Aqsa, or the Golden Gate, is a significant feature in the complex of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. It holds historical and religious significance in Islamic tradition. The door was sealed shut by the Muslim ruler Salahuddin Ayyubi (Saladin) in 1187 AD.
