This came from a December 1966 Jack Benny Christmas Special. AMC lost a mega amount of money in 1967. These were some of the best Cars AMC ever had. They had spent Millions promoting the cars but sales didn't materialize. GM intermedates ruled the day in 1967. One thing that really strikes out from this video is considering how they were promoting the cars, they really didn't get a good value for the dollar spent on Adveristing. AMC would switch advertising Agencies the following year and rightfully so. Note how they make the Rambler American seem like a cheap car rather than a value for the dollar. The placement of the vehicles in the commercial really didn't hightlight their very good looks. Even the Marlin and the Wagon were ignored in this spot entirely. This was the Best Lookng Marlin ever made. Such a shame, so much money wasted on poor promotion on such a great product line. American Motors changed its advertising agency to Wells, Rich, and Greene, which was headed by Mary Wells Lawrence. Pete Hansen and Frank Nelson also appear in this commercial along side Mr. Benny
