A video of SR Maunsell Q Class no. 30541 during a visit to the Bluebell Railway on Saturday 14 April 2018 to look at some new locations ahead of the upcoming Branch Line Weekend. A small taste of the event came in the form of the train that 30541 was hauling, consisting of four pre-grouping 4 wheelers and the LSWR 3rd Lavatory Brake. On the 14:45 ex-Sheffield Park, three BR Mk1s were added to the rear of the train, forming the "Wealden Rambler" afternoon tea train, the locomotive for which, SECR Wainwright O1 no. 65, was otherwise occupied on a private charter train, resulting in the slightly unusual sight of pre-grouping coaches and Mk1s in the same rake! My thanks, as always, go to the Bluebell Railway staff and volunteers for their efforts.
Shots included:
Imberhorne Lane (10:00 ex-Sheffield Park)
Kingscote (11:00 ex-East Grinstead)
Courtland Wood (13:15 ex-East Grinstead)
West Hoathly (14:45 ex-Sheffield Park)
Birch Farm Crossing (15:45 ex-East Grinstead)
Mill Place Viaduct (17:15 ex-Sheffield Park)
Hope you enjoy!
