Set in the picturesque and gorgeous Orcas Island, this 50K race is part of the series 25/50/100K races organized annually by Rainshadow Running. Orcas Island is the largest of the San Juan Islands, tucked away in the northwestern most tip of Washington State, accessible (mostly) via ferry. It's beautiful, serene, lush and largely unspoiled. This race is HARD, but beautiful, taking you through forests and mountainous trails, with an elevation gain of 8600'. And, if you can survive the powerline trail at around mile 21, count yourself lucky! Keep running!
