The Armenian parliament voted Tuesday for prosecuting parliamentary opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader, MP, and business tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan.
Thus, 87 MPs voted for, with no votes against.
Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia factions did not participate in the voting.
Earlier on Sunday, National Security Service investigators searched Gagik Tsarukyan's mansion and the enterprises belonging to him. The NSS issued later statements on three criminal cases involving the party's leader.

Prosperous Armenia Party leader’s attorney Smbat Minasyan has submitted a report on crime to the Armenian Prosecutor General to find out the circumstances of certain NSS officials’ committing of crimes envisaged by the Criminal Code and to give a legal assessment in connection with the search in Gagik Tsarukyan's residences and with the events related to his name.

Before voting, Gagik Tsarukyan addressed the Armenian parliament and particularly incumbent authorities and noted: “End of your “revolution” has come.”
"I ask the parliament to take a full step into real life today. The promises were made two years ago. People were listening to what they needed to hear, and everything is a lie, empty, there is nothing made-up. What was done has been destroyed, has failed," he added.
After speaking at the parliament, Tsarukyan headed to the NSS as he was summoned for interrogation.
PROTESTS IN YEREVAN

During the National Assembly's sitting, protests were held outside the parliament, and the police apprehended 154 people.
According to its statement, "everyone was apprehended from the area of the National Assembly."
COVID-19 UPDATE

Armenia confirmed 425 COVID-19 new cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number to 17,489.
The total number of tests conducted so far is 85,556.
According to the latest data, 6,571 people have already recovered.
The death toll has reached 293.
