Visit the Designer Bookbinders exhibition at the Weston Library, Oxford, to view more than 70 outstanding bindings created by contemporary makers and artists. (Free; open until 11 September 2022)
The exhibition showcases the 28 prize winners of this year's international bookbinding competition, and a further 48 selected entries, all with the theme 'Plants, Flora and Gardens'.
Designer Bookbinders one of the world’s foremost bookbinding societies devoted to the art and craft of the handbound book. This collaboration with Mark Getty and the Bodleian Library attracted top binders from all over the world.
The two prestigious top prizes are in memory of Sir Paul Getty, collector, sponsor and advocate of the craft of bookbinding. A further 25 silver prizes were awarded for the most distinguished bindings in the competition, alongside the Oxford University Students’ Prize.
