2018 Colorado Teacher of the Year Christina Gillette Randle shares the story of a student who was quiet and shy in her classroom, and whom she tried to help along. The girl was grateful, achieved academic success, and later paid tribute to her teacher in an essay. Gillette Randle realized that she had learned a great deal from this girl—notably, that “students are always paying attention to your actions, and how you make them feel.”
