France is preparing to build its latest nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the Porte-Avions Nouvelle Génération (PANG), which will be the largest warship in Europe with a budget of €10 billion. Announced by Armed Forces Minister Sébastien Lecornu, the official order will be placed in 2025, with construction led by Chantiers de l'Atlantique from 2026 until completion in 2038. The PANG, 305 meters long, will carry 40 aircraft including Rafale Marine jets and drones, equipped with nuclear propulsion expanding France's operational capabilities and maritime autonomy.
