Bangalore to Palani trip plan: (In Car)
Start at least at 5 am from Bangalore and stop 50 to 60 km before Salem and have your break fast. Visit the Namakkal Anjaneya Temple which is almost on the way to Palani. You can also visit the fort and Lakshmi Narasimha temple which is opp to Namakkal Anjaneya Temple.

After Namakkal temple start to Palani then ideally you would have given 2 breaks for you and for the car. Go in a single stretch to palani and take any hotel which is close to temple foot steps.
Hotel subham is exactly in front of the Palani temple steps which is also a decent hotel to stay with car parking facility.

Note: If you have less time dont go for winch or rope way to reach palanin temple as the waiting time on general weekends is too high and it will cost you lot of time. If you are below 50 years, you can easily climb the hill.

On some occassions Palani temple has a golden chariot in the evening and they will sell tickets to drag the chariot. There is free darshan and 100rs darshan for palani. On a regular day free darshan is enough to visit as there is no much of waiting in the que.

When lord subramanya lost the game from his brother Vinayaka as Vinayak revolved round the earth before him with a trick. He moves to Palani area and by that time a rakshasa who is carrying 2 hills will keep one hill on earth and which taking those back the hill wont come which is actually a trick played by lord subramanya, So rakshasa will fight days and months with him and get to know that he is fighting with god. He will ask him to be the god on the same temple and to visit the subramanya there is a saying that lord shiva came for this kid. This is one main reason why people without kids will come and visit the palani to worship to get kids,
