Traveling southbound on Interstate 395 in Baltimore City, Maryland.
Built above the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River, I-395 in Maryland is an unusual highway in being almost completely elevated bridge. At 1 1/3 miles in length, I-395 is one of the shortest interstates in the interstate highway system. With only one exit along its short length, I-395 doesn't really serve as much more than a grand entryway to the heart of Baltimore connecting the downtown district directly to I-95.
