There was a double whammy for South Africa consumers this week.
Petrol is going up, and so is electricity. The energy regulator NERSA has approved additional hikes for Eskom over the next three years.
This is to claw back money for hikes that Eskom has been able to prove were too low in the past. Effectively Eskom will be able to claw back R32 billion that it spent between 2014 and 1017. And this will affect our price hikes from next year for the next three. This through a mechanism called the Multi-Year Price Determination Regulatory Clearing Account which.
