A star studded line up helped the SVR kick off the Autumn Gala season with their much coverted annual event. An intensive timetable with the usual night trains and local trains was served by 10 locomotives in action.
Four guest locos were brought in for the Gala, three of which fresh from overhaul including 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' Q6 63395 & 70000 'Britannia'. The final guest 46100 'Royal Scot' was returning to the line for the second time in this overhaul.
The weather was as variable as the Spring Gala was, with a lot of the time sadly bringing overcast and rainy conditions but none the less the event continued with huge success and some fantastic scenes to be view.
