Today shared the recipe of homemade tomato jam which is very delicious and easy to cook. Just require tomatoes and flavored with red chili powder, cinnamon powder and sugar and salt, you can make this easily at home and kids will definitely relish it. Its always better to use homemade things instead of store bought, so try it at your home and do tell me in comments how it turned out for you.
1 cup=250 ml 1 tbsp=15ml 1 tsp=5ml
Prep time: 5 minutes cooking time: 1 hour Storage: in refrigerator for 1 month
Ingredients:
Tomatoes – 1 kg
Sugar – 2 cups
Ginger slices – 8-10
Red chili powder – ½ tsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Cinnamon powder – ½ tsp
Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
Airtight container to store
Recipe:
Boil the tomatoes for 3-4 mins. Or till tomatoes skin softened.
Cool them and peel off the skin.
Roughly chop them and grind to a fine paste.
Strain the prepared puree directly over pan and switch on the flame.
Add sugar, salt, red chili powder, ginger slices and cinnamon powder.
Cook till it thickens. It should reduce to 1/3 of original quantity.
At last, add lemon juice and switch off the flame. Mix well.
Cool for 30-35 mins. Before storing.
Store it in an airtight container in refrigerator for 1 month.
