The late 80s to mid 90s was the era of beat 'em ups and the definitive one came out in 1994. This series was Sega's answer to Capcom's Final Fight.

The game is a whole lot more fun when played with a buddy and a 6-button controller.

Fans are divided among which is best in the series. Compared with the previous versions, this installment overhauls its predecessors engine with improved graphics and gameplay. It's faster paced, has more moves and combos and brings back the team attacks/tactics the original had and was sorely lacking in part two. About the only thing part two had over this one is better level design, layout and music.
