A police complaint was lodged at Andheri Police station in Mumbai against actor Om Puri for allegedly insulting army jawans with his remark during a TV debate. While responding to a question on the slain jawan during the Baramulla attack, Puri said and I quote: who had asked him to join Army? The 65 year old actor made these remarks on a national news channel which was debating the issue of boycotting Pakistani actors. During the debate, Om Puri firmly backed Pakistani artistes, adding that he would continue to work with them. Saying that Pakistani artistes come to India on visa and not illegally, Puri said the government could cancel their visa if they wanted.
