Escorted tours in Talampaya Provincial Park only take place when enough people are there, waiting to ride the set route on either a small mini-bus or open truck; not at scheduled times. There are four main stops: petroglyphs, a botanic oasis in the dessert, erosion areas, and stone sculptures.

This is the only area in the world known to contain a complete sequence of sediments with fossil, flora and fauna of the Triassic Period, 250 million years ago. The colors are spectacular!
