BATAK CHICKEN CURRY

1 ekor ayam (a whole chicken)
1 sdt garam (1 tsp of salt)
1 bh jeruk nipis/lemon (a lime or lemon)

bumbu halus: (blended ingredients)
5 siung bawang putih (5 cloves of garlic)
5 btr kemiri (5 candlenuts)
3 siung bawang merah (3 bulbs of shallot)
1 jari kunyit (1 tbsp of turmeric)
2 ibu jari jahe (1 tbsp of ginger)


bahan lain: (other ingredients)
5 siung bawang merah iris (5 bulbs of shallot, sliced)
5 lbr daun salam (5 Indonesian bayleaves)
5 lbr daun jeruk (5 keffir lime leaves)
5 ibu jari lengkuas (5 tbsp of galangal)
3 bt sereh (3 stalks of lemongrass)
1500 ml air (6 cups of water)
1 sdt garam (1 tsp of salt)
1/4 sdt msg (1/4 tsp of MSG)
2 sdt ketumbar bubuk (2 tsp of ground coriander)
1 sdt lada bubuk (1 tsp of ground pepper)
1 kg kentang (2 lbs of potato)
