Decades before "The O.C.," there was "Balboa," a short-lived TV soap opera that aired locally in Orange County, Calif. This episode is from 1986 and the dude playing the bartender is me as "special guest David Dickerson." Either that was a typo by whoever did the closing credits or I was given a stage name without my knowledge. Episode was filed on location at the Westin South Coast Plaza. I hear the F&B manager got ticked off after hearing we used their actual liquor for the scenes. Got the gig because I was an entertainment editor who did a positive story on the show, and the director wanted to show his appreciation. Fun dramatic acting debut!
