Magdalena Bay is probably more famous for the Gray Whale Watching experience, but if you go there in Autumn in October and November you could be part of another great wildlife encounter such as the Striped Marlin Migration!
Huge bait balls of Sardines and Makerels form a few miles of the coast of Puerto San Carlos and there is where the action is.
From far we can see birds, looking for the same thing as we do, and when we reach the spot and finally enter the water, we witnessed a truly epical battle for survival. Marlin, Sail Fish, Sea lions, dolphins, Tunas are all there to participate in the feast.
Occasionally it's possible to runt into various types of Whales such as Humpbacks, Bryde's, Blue and also Orcas are to be found in these waters.
If you ever wanted to witness with you eyes, things that you usually get to see only on NatGeo Documentaries...well this is the place to be!
