Hello! I'm Ginger Umali, professional artist and Christian author. In this video, we’re going to dig inside two books that are helpful tools in our faith toolbox. The first is best-selling author Pam Farrel’s book, Discovering Hope in the Psalms which presents creative alternatives to studying the bible. And the other is God is in the Kitchen What’s He Cooking Up for Me, a devotional that brings scriptures to life with true stories illustrating God's intervention and moment-by-moment miracles in the ordinary.
Now why did I choose these two books? As I flip through the pages, you’ll notice that besides being faith-centered resources for your prayer time, these books showcase art.
You see, when I conceived the name for my channel – Art That Plays and Prays – I wanted to show people that it’s possible to immerse in prayer while engaging in the creative process. You can actually meditate on the Word and worship God while doing art or looking at art. That’s exactly the point that these two books prove. The intermingling of art and prayer can help us focus on the Lord.
So join me in this creative worship as I throw watercolor on the book while reflecting on Psalm 73. Let's answer the question, "What should we do when life is unfair?"
