Cover of I Feel It Coming by The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk, by LUNAXY.
In ‘I Feel It Coming’, The Weeknd advocates the power of sex to bring a couple closer together, emotionally and physically. In the chorus of ‘I Feel It Coming’, The Weeknd sings about an impending orgasm by repeating the words, ‘I Feel It Coming’, four times. The repetition emphasises the intensity of the feeling.
The Weeknd explained to New Zealand born radio host, Zane Lowe, how he create the track with Daft Punk. He explained how it was in Paris that ‘I Feel It Coming’ was born. He said ‘I Feel It Coming’ “was one of the tracks that they were playing for me and I was free styling over it, trying to find a vibe with it. You know, Guy-Manuel and Thomas (of Daft Punk) were kind of directing me on how to make it… ‘cause they want it to sound as authentic as possible.”
The Weeknd went on to explain, in a different interview, to Wall Street Journal how working together with Daft Punk on ‘I Feel It Coming’ and ‘Starboy’ was quite a different experience to what he was used to. He explained how their studio “is like a spaceship” and how they made music in a “very cinematic” way. “It’s like they’re reading a page out of a novel: ‘We want to make sure that at the end, it feels like the sun’s coming up, and maybe there’s a car chase’. They can get technical, but it was interesting how they visualise making music.”
