Discussion of an essay by Freud (1914), titled “Remembering, Repeating, and Working Through." The essay appears in the Penguin Freud Reader (Editor: Adam Philips). In this video, I also make a brief reference to John Steinbeck's novel East of Eden. A second part is possibly coming, in which I extend the discussion to an analysis of the fictional character, Barney Stinson.
