High quality natural green Kunzite gemstone originating from Afghanistan. This weighs 12.50 CTS and has been cut and faceted into a cushion style.

At first glance the stone may appear similar to a green amethyst, although this has a much stronger glow and noticeably higher luster. The high sheen surface displays brilliant flashes and sparkles as best seen in the supplied video.

The coloring is a bright neon - like green with slight undertones of gold. This is a naturally earth mined gemstone and has been irradiated to enhance color.

The gem is fully transparent and has excellent clarity. There is only slight variations found upon magnification and this can be considered eye clean or VVS clarity.

Green Kunzite, also known has hiddenite or lithia emerald, is the green to yellow - green silica mineral variety of the mineral Spodumene. The gem has a glassy transparency and is pleochoic and shifts into different tones.

Kunzite is a relatively new gem on the market. It was discovered in 1902 and named after the gemologist who discovered the stone, George Kunz. The hardness of the stone rates 6.5 - 7 on the MOHS scale, making this acceptable for regular wear.
