Filmed on 03/09/2020. As the lockdown restrictions are easing and with summer drawing to a close, it is time for another outing. Before the day begins, there is a special message reguarding to those involved with train 1H08 ScotRail InterCity7 Aberdeen to Glasgow Queen Street on 12th August 2020. Also, a special message which pays tribute to fireman Mike Middleon who passed away working The Dalesman on 18th August.

Starting at Scarborough, we ride the 09:15 Transdev Coastliner Country 843 service working to Leeds, rode as far as York Railway Station. Coastliner buses are getting back to normal times as we speak for the hourly Scarborough to Leeds services returning and 840 to resume with Leeds to Thornton-Le-Dale/Whitby services. Now, for those wondering about the Volvo Wright Gemini II B9TL's, they are all now withdrawn from Coastliner and transferred to Transdev Rosso. The 843 Coastliner cruises along the A64 direct to Malon to Heworth with no delays at all to the journey.

At York, we get straight to work on trainspotting for 3 hours of what is probabily the final chance to see the second to last of The Scarborough Spa Express worked by LMS Jubilee no. 45562 'Alberta'. With a surprise by DRS Direct Rail services with a class 37 working light engine between Carlisle Kingmoor and York Parcel Sidings. Bare in mind, services during this outing were running 70% to 80% of services currently running with plans for trains to get back to normal running. A few changes with the Northern class 195's which has taken over class 158's which worked York to Leeds/Blackpool North services. LNER 225 sets ran for the final few times between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh. Transpennnie Express Nova 1's and few Nova 3's which worked Liverpool to Scarborough/Newcastle services.

After a good spotting session, had a nice Costa lunch before doing some Automated Announcements recording as Anne Announcements has now entered new territory North along the ECML network as part of East Coast Upgrade plan. Next, it was time to head to the National Railway Museum car park to see what is left of ex LNER class A4 Pacific no. 60009 'Union Of South Africa' before it is taken to Scotland to its retirement home. With oddly, a first generation DMU with a class 47 helped shunted 60009. We then head to the bridge on the River Ouse overlooking the York to Scarborough line to see the arrival of the 16:28 Transpennnine Express Nova 3 service to Liverpool Lime Street. As there was plenty of time before 'Alberta' was due to make its return, we had a short walk along the River Ouse on a pleasent evening and ice cream from a very rare ice cream boat. According to the owner, this is one of very few ice cream boats in the UK. With a quick look at some of the towers at York before walking back towards the bridge of the York to Scarborough line. Good timing to see 'The Scarborough Spa Express' on its return journey running ahead of time before it headed back to the NRM for its next working.

Finally, we catch the 18:18 Transdev Coastliner Country Gemini 3 B5TL service back to Scarborough. But, before we did, we had a good look on Go Ahead East Yorkshire's newest editon to the fleet with Enviro 400 MMC's. Branded as the 'East Rider' which works either 45/45A/46/X46/X47 services which runs services:

45/45A: York - Pocklington - Market Weighton - Driffied - Bridlington
46: York - University Of York - Dunnington - Pocklington
X46/X47: York - Pocklington - Market Weighton - Beverley - Hull

East Riders Enviro 400 MMC's has a radical change which no other bus company has. Bike raks and even mirrorless buses. This is because these buses have external cameras which works just as well as external mirrors.

A smooth journey on Coastliner Country 843 last Scarborough bus service of the day via Heworth, Stockton On Forest, Malton and Seamer Village before back home to Scarborough. Now, bus drivers with Coastliner do a driver swap at Malton with those who takes buses onwards to the Yorkshire Coast and those who do the long run to York & Leeds. As the sun set's 3630 heads into Scarborough town on what concludes a decent day in York.
