Hi, everyone, Adam with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains, on our 2020 Chrysler Pacifica. So these chains are going to be a little bit different than some of the normal chains you might see. We are going to have a high quality manganese nickel alloy steel dual-sided D shaped links. And also we're going to have these little plates here and that's going to be our icebreakers. So these are going to get you an extreme amount of traction in that heavy ice and such, not a lot of those chains has such a big icebreaker bracket.
Another thing is we have our plastic plates here, but there are some studs on there. So they're not going to wear down that much over time. Another thing, just these things do have a lot of adjustments of course, so you can get that perfect fit.You just got to use the instructions. And I think that's, what kind of sets this apart. Another thing that does is just the whole mechanism upfront.
It's a little bit more, I wouldn't say difficult, but relatively unique and a lot more moving parts here, but it does give you a good fit. You are just going to have to just ratchet strap this down. It'll kind of just put it on there for you whenever you roll it over. And we don't really have anything touching our rims. So for those higher end rims that you may have, I don't think we'll have any issues of making any contact whenever we're driving down the road.
Other than that, it is relatively a longer type of install. So let's just go ahead and show you guys how. All right, so first things first open it up. We're going to get a little baggy with a bunch of goodies in it.So it's going to be a little hook and loop kind of cool. Okay, we're going to get a tool.
So we don't have to worry about grabbing one of those. We're going to get some gloves for your hands and it gets some lug nut covers. We'll get into those in a minute and then we're going to get the rest of our hardware. We'll get all of that in a minute, because we won't use all of them, but let's just go ahead and take these chains out and set this bag to the side.So the first thing we want to do is we're going to just kind of lay it out and make sure everything's there. And it looks as if it is. And then after that, we can go ahead and grab our instructions and it will tell us how many links to remove. So as you guys can see right here, this is going to be a tire size 235/65R17. Then we take the instructions here, find that size. And then that will let you know how many of these yellow links to remove. All right, so after looking into my instructions, we are going to remove four of these bars here. So we're going have two different tools and it's not going to be super easy because it is a nylon lock nut on the end there, but this tool does make it decently easy.Once you get it all and done, what we're going to do with this is just take the whole entire thing off. So we're going to do that four separate times and we can actually put all of this stuff just back in the bag. And this is something that we're not going to be doing the day that we need the change. This is something that I want you guys to do the day you get your chains, just to get them all set up, to make it a little bit easier and quicker whenever the actual snow hits. And you're actually in that situation. So as you saw here, we just basically remove that just so it would be like that.And we're going to do that on three other pieces. So now what we need to do is make sure that this is going to be the right size for a lug nut. Right size, meaning it's going to just fit over there nice and snug. You're going to feel a little bit of looseness going left and right, but this one does not fit over our lug nut at all. So luckily we get more that come with our kits and of all of them that you just going to put this one back here, I already checked and found which one that fit. And that is this one, and this is what it's going to slide in there like that. And as you can see, it's just sitting on that lug nut pretty well. So now take a like so and where I'm going to try to use this spacer because I think it may work. All we just need to do is just make sure it's not going to hit our rim. And by this, I mean just the plastic portion here.And if it doesn't, we do have other spacers that we can put on there, but I think this might do the job for us. So now we're pretty much ready to take these chains and start working them onto our tires. I start with the top, obviously just kind of work my way around, making sure this thing's going to get in there. The ones that we can get all
