We visited the South of France (near Pralognan-La-Vanoise, Savoie, France) in 2021 to hike in the French Alps on the Col de la Vanoise trail. The trail is located in the Parc national de la Vanoise, about 2.5 hours east of Lyon, France. The hike was a 7.6-mile loop near the border of France and Switzerland. We stayed in Albertville, France before making our way to the trailhead, which passes through the town of Bozel, France. The area is known for its alpine ski slopes and hiking trails, and is a cannot miss. The trail includes two refuges, Refuge des Barmettes and Refuge du Col de la Vanoise which both serve coffee and meals. The loop circles around the peaks of Le Morlond and Aiguille de la Vanoise. We completed the Col de la Vanoise clockwise. We stopped filming with about 1.5 miles left during our descent due to rock scrambling and looming altitude sickness.
