Many people have made their New Year's resolutions for 2024.
One that is popular is "dry January," where you abstain from drinking alcohol for the whole month.
But health experts say it's more than just detoxifying the body after holiday binges. The challenge can also be a way for someone to examine their relationship with drinking.
The National Institute of Health said participants in a study for dry January experienced many health benefits.
They said moderate drinkers (those who drink within the recommended levels) could see improvements in concentration and sleep; reduced cholesterol, glucose levels and blood pressure; weight loss, and some participants could even lose 40% of their liver fat.
