ANSWER
No not everyone, and like any country in the world it can be avoided by following these tips:
3 ESSENTIAL TRAVEL FOOD TIPS
1. The most important one is to only eat in busy places, especially when they are full of Indian locals. Locals will return to places that serve tasty & safe food, so its a good indicator of somewhere more trustworthy
2. TRUST YOUR GUT - by this we mean that our unconscious mind can suss out a potentially hazardous eating situation way before our conscious mind can catch up..so if your gut feeling says "LEAVE" then it might be best to find a different restaurant
3. AVOID WATER-BASED STREET FOOD IN INDIA - this means that pani puri, salad, and chutneys may be off the menu as they will potentially use tap water to make them with. The reality is that it's almost unavoidable when eating out in India, but certain foods have higher risk.
We spent 9 months in India over the last 12 months, and after a couple of weeks we were fine eating pani puri and chutneys, but it's still a risk for our sensitive western bellies
