A Russian actress named Polina Menshikh has reportedly been killed in a Ukrainian attack while performing for Russian troops in a Russian-controlled area of eastern Ukraine. According to reports, the Russian theatre where actress the 40-year-old actress worked said she had been killed while performing on stage in the Donbas region. They said in a statement, ‘It is with great pain that we inform you Polina Menshikh, famous as the director of one of the versions of ‘The Last Trial,’ died yesterday at a performance in Donbas as a result of shelling.’ An unverified video has surfaced on the internet which showed soldiers watching Menshikh singing on stage with a guitar. It was reportedly recorded on the day the Russian military celebrated their missile and artillery forces. The video saw Polina performing and the building suddenly getting rocked by a blast. Windows can be heard shattering before the lights go out and someone is caught on camera using an expletive. Even though news agencies could not verify details of the incident but military officials on both sides confirmed there had been a Ukrainian attack. Reportedly, an unverified investigator said one civilian had been killed without giving out further details. The Russian defence ministry, on the other hand, declined to comment and said that there were no casualties from the attack. Reports further stated that Ukrainian commanders said their forces had struck what they said was a Russian military award ceremony, targeting Russia's 810th Separate Naval Infantry Brigade.
