Dr. Jordan Rogers continues preaching verse-by-verse through The Gospel of John in this sermon from John 12:12-19 entitled, “The Triumphal Entry.”
John’s purpose in John 12:12-19 is to record the event of the Triumphal Entry. Within that context, John records two Old Testament passages which shed light on the situation: one is Psalm 118:25-26 which was shouted by the people in celebration of Jesus as King and God’s agent of salvation. The other is fulfilled by Christ as He sat Himself on the foal of a donkey in fulfillment of Zechariah 9:9. In this, He shows Himself to be the King of peace. These two prophetic portraits of Christ are truths to behold, teaching us how we are to view Jesus and worship Him.
The following is a sermon on John 12:12-19, and below you will find the video recording and a sermon outline to help you follow along as you watch. I hope this study tool helps you grow in your love for the Lord Jesus and in your obedience to Him.
