12.21.2018 | 12:30 AM | SOUTH EL MONTE - Firefighters worked to extinguish a raging fire at a commercial building, Friday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire in the 2600 block of Chico Avenue around 12:30 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located a single-story commercial building with heavy fire showing and requested a second alarm assignment to help battle the flames.

For nearly an hour firefighters doused the fire before eventually extinguishing the flames.

Investigators were requested to the scene to help determine the cause of the fire.
