The saga of Tinhorn Flats vs Burbank continues this winter .. in court. The Burbank restaurant openly flaunted rules from the Los Angeles Department of Health to close indoor dining during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic on constitutional rights. The family-owned business became a bit of a media moment at a time when people were wrestling with anxiety over public safety and personal freedoms. Protests in front of the building happened, the owner's son was arrested three times during the fiasco and the city of Burbank even put up a chain link fence restricting people from entering. The family eventually sold the restaurnant which put and end to the drama. While the legal proceedings against the arrested son have since been resolved; MyBurbank.com reports he served 40 hours of community service through a diversion program, the city of Burbank wants nearly $290,000 in costs they say were associated with the fiasco.
