China's UN representative, Fu Cong, Wednesday criticized Israel at a UN Security Council meeting for ignoring international calls for a ceasefire and continuing its military actions. The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres echoed these concerns.
Lebanon's UN Ambassador described the situation in Lebanon as dire, following nearly a year of "barbaric aggression" from Israel.
While the US envoy repeated President Biden’s “fully, fully, fully” support for Israel, condemning Iran for its missile strikes. Israel kept up its bombing on Lebanon into the night and Thursday morning. A health authority building had been hit in Israel’s “precise strike” in Beirut.
US President Biden has demanded a proportional response to barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles, voicing opposition to a Israeli potential strike on Iran’s nuclear sites.
Since October last year, the Lebanon-Israel conflict has killed over 1,700 in Lebanon, displaced 346,000, and forced 128,000 into Syria.
