Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Assam Government Excise Department personnel led by officer Babul Baishya and a unit of the 24 BN SSB conducted a joint operation and seized 14 cartons of Bhutan made liquor from Darrangamela on the Indo-Bhutan border in Tamulpur
According to reports, a vehicle bearing registration number AS 01 AJ 0880 while on its way to Sesapani from Bhutan was intercepted by the joint team of the excise department and the SSB
A total of 14 cartons of liquor estimated to be around Rs 13,000 was seized from the car along with the arrest of a person identified as Chanmohan Basumatary of Sesapani village
The seized consignment along with the vehicle and the accused were later brought to the office of the excise department
